Infant Mental Health week comes to Cambridge
To raise awareness of Infant Mental Health week, the Brazelton Centre UK will be out and around Cambridge spreading news of the important work that we do.
The Brazelton Centre UK will be exhibiting work about their NBAS and NBO courses and baby communication at The Rosie Hospital foyer on Wednesday, 8th June from 9:00am-3:30am.
Staff at the Rosie Neonatal Unit are using the Newborn Behavioural Observations (NBO) and the Neonatal Behavioural Assessment Scale (NBAS) with pre-term and sick babies when they are medically stable and before they go home. Research studies using these tools are conducted by Dr. Topun Austin (Consultant Neonatologist) and his team. Brazelton Centre Leaflets and DVD’s are available for parents who want to find out more about how their newborn baby communicates.
The local Cambridge MP, Daniel Zeichner is aware of our work at the Rosie Hospital and also at Romsey Mill Children’s Centre where one of their staff is trained in the NBO.
We will also be distributing flyers about the Brazelton Centre at the Central Library, Cambridge.
