Brazelton Champions and Champions Network

We are very excited to launch our Brazelton Champions initiative and Champions Network! This champion role will give special recognition to individuals or pairs advocating the NBO and the Brazelton approach in their area, profession or organisation.

Be part of our first intake of champions and help us shape the role. Register your interest on your own or as part of a pair with the form below by 10th December 2024.

What is a Brazelton champion?

  • All our champions will be certified Newborn Behavioural Observations (NBO) practitioners. Some may also be certified in the NBAS, though this is not essential.
  • They will have great enthusiasm using and advocating for the Brazelton approach in their role with families.
  • They will be living and working within the United Kingdom.
  • They will become linked in with the Brazelton Centre UK and with our other champions across the UK, all working to improve infant mental health, and to enrich the relationship between parent and baby through the NBO.

What our champions get from us:

  • A champion’s welcome pack with baby communication resources and champion’s pin badge.
  • Access to masterclasses run by Brazelton UK trainers and other ‘experts in the field’ exclusively for champions.
  • Support from us to enhance skills.
  • Recognition and celebration of our champions’ achievements and contributions through an annual celebration.
  • Membership to our exclusive champions network (see below).

The Champions Network

All champions will become part of our exclusive champion network connecting you to other champions across the UK. This network will provide:

  • The opportunity to meet together online 2-3 times a year for a time of sharing, learning, and feedback (2 hours per session).
  • Year-round informal networking and sharing via our Forum area (currently in construction!).
  • A meeting once a year to get together and celebrate your collective contributions (half a day).

What do our champions bring to the role?

  • Being an enthusiastic advocate for the NBO in their organisation and/or local area.
  • Providing a link between the Brazelton Centre UK and local community and services for purposes such as:

> Improving ways to gather feedback

> Sharing and disseminating information about materials, resources, services, and opportunities

> Being a point of contact and support for new Brazelton trainees within their organisation/area, signposting to support where needed, and supporting trainees towards achieving certification

** As this is a new initiative our first cohort of champions will also have the opportunity to work with the Brazelton Centre UK to develop and shape the champion role for the future! **

I'm interested!
